Kenya, Africa 2017 Photo Safari

The chieftain of the Samburu village is standing proudly in front of the hut that he shares with his wife. The tradition is that men build the basic structure and women do the rest to turn it into a home. Men can marry as many women as they want (or can afford) but each woman gets her own hut. The men would then set up a schedule of when they would stay with each one. This chieftain said he had only one wife but his brother has three. Photo by Leah Bensen
